Community Oncology/Hematology Leader
American Oncology Network, LLC (AON) is an alliance of physicians and seasoned healthcare leaders partnering to ensure the long-term success of community oncology. With more than three decades of expertise in all areas of oncology practice management, AON enables physicians to focus on what matters most – providing the highest quality care for patients. We are committed to providing expert cancer care in community-based settings close to home.
In-House Laboratory Services
Each American Oncology Network, LLC cancer center location provides accredited, state and federally-licensed in-house laboratories with some specialized specimens being transported daily to a central facility with technically-advanced analyzers for processing. Results are usually available within 24 hours.
The AON pathology lab is a state-of-the-art facility with a highly-trained staff that includes Hematopathologists and surgical Pathologists to serve the needs of our practice. This includes histology, immunohistochemistry (IHC), in situ hybridization (ISH), flow cytometry and florescence in situ hybridization (FISH).
Our pathologists are in regular contact with all of the clinicians, allowing immediate reporting of clinically significant information. Our turnaround times are greatly assisted by the central location for all testing and a courier system set up specifically for the needs of our group.
In-House Specialty Pharmacy
AON Pharmacy is an oral oncolytic pharmacy which specializes in delivering newer oral oncology medications to our patients in many states, where the pharmacy is licensed. This year, approximately 40% of all cancer drugs will be available in pill form, including the newer targeted therapies.
Because it is a part of the AON network, both physicians and patients benefit from direct immediate access to in-house pharmacists, who are able to provide faster, superior service.
Fully-Integrated Electronic Medical Records
OncoEMR is a fully-integrated electronic medical records system developed in collaboration with our physicians. Not only do all AON physicians have 24/7 online and mobile access to patients’ health records, OncoEMR also offers both a patient portal (SeeYourChart), as well as a portal for referring physicians. Through OncoEMR, new physicians joining the practice can share patients’ charts with AON colleagues, obtain lab and other test results usually within 24 hours and allow patients to have rapid access to their own pertinent medical information.
